We are a Multi-Disciplinary Design Collective with an aim to experiment ideas that bring about a social change in the relation between us and our surroundings. Spaces where we live, work, learn and play.
We strive to bring about alternatives to high carbon footprint building construction techniques & materials. One of the ways in which we do that is by reviving time tested age old techniques & re-interpreting them to fit the needs of today.
We are continuously working towards making these technologies accessible to the masses & facilitating it’s use in the urban environment.
We use a flat hierarchy structure at Prayog Design Collective, where everyone is treated equally in terms of work and responsibilities. This helps bridge the gap between senior and younger team members and fosters a more collaborative work atmosphere. We encourage round table meetings - meaning each individual is given an opportunity to speak and be a part of the discussion.
Our work encompasses more than just architectural projects; it also includes research, product development, audio-visual presentations

ABOUT TEAM MEMBERS IN DETAIL
Akshay Karanjkar
For Akshay, design is a way of creating meaningful connections between people and spaces. During his college years, he had quite an unique opportunity to work part-time with 'ARC Views', immersing himself in the nuanced field of Archaeological Conservation. This early experience instilled in him a deep respect for the stories and legacies held within structures, shaping his understanding of architecture's profound role. Since then, his career has taken him across Western and Southern India, enriching him with diverse experiences in Architectural and Interior Design, as well as Master Planning. A pivotal chapter of his journey was the tenure at award-winning firm 'N.D.D.C.' in Pune, where he cultivated a balanced design philosophy that blends creativity with meticulous attention to detail. At 'M.K.D.M. Studio Private Limited', he]]\ contributed to large-scale projects, including high-rise residential developments, township planning, and mental health institutes in the healthcare sector, further refining his technical expertise and visionary approach.
For Akshay, Architecture is not just about designing functional spaces; it's about crafting environments that resonate with purpose, sustainability, & human connection. Every project that he undertakes is a step towards building a legacy of design that transforms lives and tells stories that endure.
